About Dr. Kris Dorner
Meet Dr. Kris Dorner
Dr. Kris Dorner, DNM, CFMP, is a Doctor of Natural Medicine and Certified Functional Medicine Practitioner with a special focus on functional brain health and mental health challenges.
His training has centered on naturopathic medicine, natural medicine, functional medicine, nutrition, and the interconnected systems that influence how the brain and body function.
Why this work matters to him
Why Brain Health Became Personal
Dr. Dorner has also experienced the impact of significant brain and mental health challenges within his own family, including with his older brother and wife.
Those experiences gave him firsthand understanding of how deeply these struggles can affect not only the individual, but the entire family.
Combined with years of study and professional training, that perspective shaped the way Dr. Dorner approaches this work today: listen carefully, look beyond the diagnosis alone, and ask deeper questions about the underlying factors that may be affecting brain health.
How he practices
A Whole-Person Approach
Dr. Dorner's approach begins with the belief that the body was created as an interconnected whole, and that the brain cannot be fully understood in isolation from the rest of the body.
Through naturopathic and functional medicine, he looks beyond symptoms alone to better understand the nutritional, metabolic, digestive, immune, hormonal, environmental, neurological, and lifestyle factors that may be influencing brain health and a person's ability to feel and function well.
Dr. Dorner is a Christian and follower of Jesus Christ. His faith shapes the way he views people, health, healing, and his responsibility to serve others well.
He believes every person has inherent dignity and should be treated with compassion, honesty, humility, patience, and respect.
